Dr. Noha Mousa: Founder and Secretary General
Graduated at Assiut School of Medicine in Egypt. She completed her residency and received her M.Sc degree in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the same University. Noha obtained her PhD degree from the Faculty of Medicine at University of Toronto, Canada. She completed a clinical fellowship at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Mount Sinai Hospital as a subspecialist of Menopause and Mature Women Health in 2010. She got her research training through a Canadian Institute of Health Research clinician scientist program. Currently, she is an assistant lecturer of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Assiut University. Dr Noha is a founder of HRE and the Secretary General of its founding board. Her current role includes the coordination between different committees and projects of HRE as well as the coordination of board meetings and tasks to arise from. Dr Mousa has established successful student mentoring programs since the foundation of HRE, including the Mentor student research link, the clinical shadowing program and the information and patient service kiosk
Dr. Dina Khalaf : Co-founder and VP-international:
A physician graduated from Ain Shams University. She received her training in Medical Oncology from National Cancer Institute in Cairo. She obtained a MSc in Internal Medicine, sub-specialized in Medical Oncology. She worked as a Medical Oncology specialist in major referral centers in Egypt. Afterwards She joined a hospital in the Eastern Province in Saudi Arabia, which was JCI and Canadian accredited. She relocated to Canada where she got LMCC certified and now training as a Clinical fellow in internal Medicine, University of Toronto. Dr Dina is a founder of HRE and is the current Vice President of HRE international board, the Canada Geographical Committee leader in addition to her participation in coordination of the Clinical shadowing program.
Dr. Samir Banoob- Honorary President -International:
Dr Banoob is an International Consultant in Health Systems and Professor of Health Policy and Management. He is the President of International Health management, LLC. since 1986, a consulting firm in Florida, leading international health projects and training scholars from more than 70 countries. He served as a full time Professor of Health Policy and Management, and Director of the International Health Management Programs at the College of Public Health, University of
South Florida for 20 years (1983-2002), and is a founding member of this graduate college that serves the whole State of Florida.
He was elected as President of its Faculty Assembly, member of the University Senate, Florida faculty Union, and received the University Professorial Excellence Award in teaching research and service in 1998. He is currently an Adjunct Professor of Health policy, management & Behavior, School of Public Health, University AT Albany, State University of New York.
He was appointed in 2005 as the founding Dean & Professor, Graduate School of Global Health Development, (part- time), European Center for Peace & Development, United Nations University for Peace, Belgrade, Serbia.
He obtained his M.D. degree, received Diplomat of Internal Medicine, Master's Degree in Public Health majoring in Hospital Administration, and Doctorate Degree in Public Health majoring in Health Planning and Management, from the University of Alexandria, Egypt.
He then received postgraduate education at Johns Hopkins School of Hygiene and Public Health, and training at the National Center for Health Statistics and Health Services Research, and the Centers for Disease Control in the US.
He held senior level clinical, administrative, and academic positions in health systems, projects and hospitals in Egypt and the Middle East; then an adjunct professor position at Johns Hopkins School of Hygiene and Public Health 1980-1992. He served as Chair of the American Public Health Association International Health Section,
and member of its Governing Council and International Committee on Human Rights. He received the Association Distinguitshed Service Award in 1997. He is an active member of the World Federation of Public Health Associations.
Dr. Banoob serves as a consultant and adviser on major health projects (in 76 countries to date) in East, Central, and West Europe; the Middle East; Caribbean and Central America; Africa, Asia, and the US; consulting with The World Health Organization and its regional offices, UNICEF, World Bank, UNDP, the United States Agency for International Development, Inter American Development Bank, governments of the Arab Gulf Countries, State of Florida Department of Health, the Health Planning Council and hospitals and health organizations in Florida.
The major areas of expertise of Dr. Banoob are:
Graduate education in health administration and public health, including needs assessment, curriculum development, institutional development and governance and
teaching graduate courses and senior management training. Planning, organization, and evaluation of National Health systems, including health reform, health insurance and alternatives of financing, and privatization/ public private partnership.Planning, management and evaluation of health projects; including private-public
partnership and managed care, disease control, emergency medical systems and disaster preparedness, elderly care and long term care, and primary care / family planning. Hospital development, modernization, and quality improvement/ management of health institutions.
South Florida for 20 years (1983-2002), and is a founding member of this graduate college that serves the whole State of Florida.

Dr. Ahmed Sekotory - President:
Dr Ahmed Sekotory graduated from Kasr Al-Ainy Medcial School in 1989 and started his training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Egypt before moving to the UK in 1997. He has completed his higher specialist training in the specialty in London and was also accredited as a subspecialist in gynaecological oncology. He was awarded the Royal College (RCOG) Fellowship in 2000 and the MD degree from the University of London after a research project between King’s College & St Thomas Hospitals in London, and Cancer Centre in the USA. He has chaired the Gynaecological Oncology Centre at the University Hospital of South Manchester and The Christie since 2007, introducing new services such as minimal access surgery and fertility preservation, and has led the Team to outstanding achievements including a 2.6-fold expansion and a score of 100% compliance with best standards in 2011. He is a founding and board member of the British and Irish Association of Robotic Gynaecological Surgeons and Educational Committee member of the European Society of Robotic Gynaecological Surgeons. He is also a board member of other UK-National and International professional bodies.
Dr Ahmed Sekotory has endless passion to improving Healthcare in Egypt particularly when it comes to Women Health. He has served as the Secretary to the RCOG-Egyptian Liaison Group (UK) since 2011 and coordinated several educational and professional projects between Egypt and UK. He co-chaired the organizing Team for the RCOG-Egypt Day Conference held in London on the 14th September 2012 to discuss improving Egyptian Women Healthcare; a consensus statement was issued. He also served as the Communication and Governance Trustee of the Med-Masry Society, which is a professional body of Egyptian Consultants in the UK. Dr Ahmed also maintains several collaborative projects with Egypt in Medical and Nursing Development involving other NGOs such as Misr-Elkheir. He has helped with workshops on Evidence Based Medicine, Clinical Governance and Risk Management in Women Health and cancer patients held in major cities such as Cairo, Alexandria, Assiut, and Zagazig. Given its professional manpower and logistical resources, Dr Ahmed Sekotory believes Egypt has a huge potential and opportunity to be in the forefront of Medical care in the region; he has planned to work in Egypt over the next period to share in achieving this goal. Egyptians deserve better Health services that meet their aspirations; this is achievable through Radical Healthcare Reform, which is the core interest of our Group “Healthcare Reform Egypt”.

Dr Mohamed Fathalla
Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology , Assiut University and Vice President of HRE in Egypt and Assiut Geographical Committee leader. Dr Mohamed has extensive experience in medical education, medical curriclulm development, clinical research design and methods.
Dr. Hoda Amer
MD, FCAP, is a graduate of Cairo University Medical School. She completed residency training in Pathology at University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, in Newark NJ. Following board certification, she completed a fellowship in Pediatric Pathology at Nationwide Childrens Hospital in Columbus, OH. Dr Amer then returned to Cairo Egypt, where she currently works at the Children's Cancer Hospital Egypt-57357. Dr Hoda has been active in a wide range of activities and groups that aims at the improving medical education to the international standards. She is the Spokesperson of HRE in this board and represented the group in a number of events in the media.
Dr. Ahmed Shawky
Dr. Ahmed Shawky is a consultant of Spine Surgery at HELIOS Klinikum Erfurt, Germany. Together with the head of the department he established the department of Spine Surgery in Erfurt. He is also a consultant and lecturer of Spine Surgery, Orthopedics and Trauma at Assiut University, Egypt. Dr. Shawky is a member of the German Spine Society, the World Wide Conferences Committee of the Scoliosis Research Society (SRS) and the European AO-Spine society. He is mainly interested in minimal-invasive spine surgery and spinal deformities. He is one of the authors of the bill of Healthcare Reform Egypt (HRE). He joined the HRE as he believes that radical reform in healthcare in Egypt is a priority at this time. Dr Ahmed is a current board member and participating in several board activities, also he is the Germany HRE Committee leader.
Dr Omnia Omar
Final year medical student at Assiut University, one of the first student members contributed to establishing the group. She initiated and currently leading the Mentor - Student Research Link program, one of the most active and pioneer pilot projects of Healthcare Reform Egypt
Dr. Mohamed Abd Elghafour
Mohamed is a neurology and physchiatry first year resident at Assiut University Hospital. Mohamed is originally from Sohag and has been one of the main founders of the group while he was a medical student. He is now the HRE founding board Treasurer. Mohamed was also responsible for media communications and were able to communicate the idea through his dedicated work to many people who joined the group as active members later on. He will be also working on the Continuing Medical Education project, one of the upcoming pilot projects of HRE.
Dr. Mohammed Abdelnasser
is a 5th year medical student who had established many students' committee and participated in the Egyptian Medical Students' Union in 2013. He was elected as chief executive for students' union in 2013 in faculty of medicine in Assuit University, he also was the general coordinator for Zewail city friends' association between May and October 2011. He is also one of the administrative board of "Kafala" the charity association.
Mohammed is a member in The Healthcare Reform Egypt since August 28th 2013, as geographical and outreach committee manager.

Dr. Sameh Abel Azeem
Graduated from Benha University School of Medicine. He is currently a pediatrics and neonatology specialist in Saudia Arabia. He has trained also as total quality management specialist. He completed a fellowship of hospital management. He is also a member of the Qalyoubeya Medical Syndicate. Dr Sameh has been active in several young physician groups calling for improvement of healthcare resources and improving the situation of Egyptian physicians working in the government hospitals (such as the Physicians Parliament).Dr Sameh has been actively organizing common and collaborative events by HRE and other national groups.
Dr Mohamed Al Agooz
Graduated form Al- Azhar medicine school in 2012. Currently he is an intern at AL – Zahra’a hospital in Cairo. Mohamed joined the group early in 2011 and was active in various events and currently an HRE board member representing house officers and a Cairo geographical committee member.
