Alexandria : Dr Ahmed Galal
Dr Ahmed F. Galal is a lecturer of obstetrics and gynecology, Alexandria University, Egypt. He is a lead consultant of reproductive medicine and infertility working in the university center. Dr. Ahmed completed his residency training and his M.Sc. in Obstetrics and Gynecology in Alexandria university in 2002 . He was then sub specialized in reproductive endocrinology and infertility in 2010 through his Doctorate thesis work the Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility subdivision of ObeGyn department of University of Minnesota, USA. He then worked as post-doctoral fellow in the university of New Mexico, USA. He has been certified from ARDMS in obstetric and gynecologic ultrasonography. He has particular interest in minimally invasive surgery and menopause. He has been additionally interested in developing the clinical teaching and research for medical students and continuous medical education for physicians. He has been working on establishing a NGO in Alexandria that focus on developing women health in Egypt. He is currently the adviser of the Clinical Shadowing Program plus being the Alexandria regional leader of HRE.
Assiut: Dr Mohamed Mahmoud Fathalla
Dr Mohamed Fathalla is a Professor at the Faculty of Medicine and the Women Health Hospital in Assiut. Dr Mohamed has extensive experience in medical education, medical curriclulm development, clinical research design and methods.
Cairo : Dr Abdel Karim Kamel
Dr Abdelkarim Kamel is Assistant to the Chairman of the Specialized Medical Centers (SMC). SMC is a sector of the Egyptian Ministry of Health that provides tertiary healthcare service through 41 specialized hospitals and centers, and accounts for 65% of the market share for the treatment of Oncology, and 45% of market share for open heart surgeries in Egypt. Dr. Kamel is an Assistant Professor of Medical Biochemistry in the Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University. For the last seven years he has been teaching Healthcare Management in the American University in Cairo, as well as Lean Six Sigma for the Institute of Quality. He has occupied several managerial jobs in the private sector including Shaalan Health System and As-Salam International Hospital. He is a Consultant for the Health Information System for the Chamber of Information Technology reviewing and appraising hospital healthcare applications in Egypt using the standards of Certification Commission for Health Information Technology (CCHIT). He is also a consultant to the United Nation Higher Commission for Refuges (UNHCR) for the Exceptional Care Committee.
Mansoura: Dr Khadiga Almasry
graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at Mansoura University in 2009. Dr Khdiga is now working as a resident doctor of intensive care at Talkha Central Hospital. She has been also an instructor at the European Resuscitation Council (ERC). She is an active member in several groups that are advocates of young physicians rights such as (Doctors without Rights) .
Sohag: Dr Ahmed Elsherbiny
Dr Ahmed Elsherbiny graduated from the faculty of medicine at Sohag University where he finished his residency in the department of plastic surgery and obtained the M.S.c degree in Surgery. He got a position of a research fellow for two years in the plastic surgery department at Zurich university and obtained the Swiss MD degree. He had clinical fellowships afterwards in Gent University Hospital, Glasgow University Hospital, and Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children in London (as a British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons Fellow). He got the the Doctoral Degree in Plastic Surgery from Sohag University in 2009 and the European Board of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery (EBOPRASF) in 2010.
Dr. Ahmed Elsherbiny is currently a lecturer and consultant in the Plastic Surgery Department at Sohag University. He is co-founder and board member of the Sohag Cleft-Craniofacial Center (special unit – Sohag University) and the director and founder of Sohag cleft clinic (the first mutidisciplinary cleft clinic in Egypt). He is also the general secretary of the Egyptian Smile Charity and the director of the CME unit in the faculty of Medicine at Sohag University.

Canada : Dr. Dina Khalaf
A physician graduated from Ain Shams University. She received her training in Medical Oncology from National Cancer Institute in Cairo. She obtained a MSc in Internal Medicine, sub-specialized in Medical Oncology. She worked as a Medical Oncology specialist in major referral centers in Egypt. Afterwards She joined a hospital in the Eastern Province in Saudi Arabia, which was JCI and Canadian accredited. She relocated to Canada where she got LMCC certified and now training as a Clinical fellow in internal Medicine, University of Toronto. Dr Dina is a founder of HRE and is the current Vice President of HRE Board in addition to her participation in coordination of the Clinical shadowing program.
Germany : Dr. Ahmed Shawky
Dr. Ahmed Shawky is a consultant of Spine Surgery at HELIOS Klinikum Erfurt, Germany. Together with the head of the department he established the department of Spine Surgery in Erfurt. He is also a consultant and lecturer of Spine Surgery, Orthopedics and Trauma at Assiut University, Egypt. Dr. Shawky is a member of the German Spine Society, the World Wide Conferences Committee of the Scoliosis Research Society (SRS) and the European AO-Spine society. He is mainly interested in minimal-invasive spine surgery and spinal deformities. He is one of the authors of the bill of Healthcare Reform Egypt (HRE). He joined the HRE as he believes that radical reform in healthcare in Egypt is a priority at this time. Dr Ahmed is a current board member and participating in several board activities, also he is the Germany HRE Committee leader.
Japan: Dr Hisham Abu Taleb
Dr Hisham is an Obstetrician and Gynecologist graduated at Assiut University where he also obtained his residency training. He is now a PhD Scholar at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Kyoto University in Japan. Dr Hisham has been working with young undergraduate medical students through the Mentor-Student Research Link program and he is quite interested in investing in developing the research skills of the young generations as a step in reforming the medical and health sciences in Egypt.
UK : Dr. Ehab Khattab
I am Ehab Khattab. Having graduated from Kasr el Aini medical schools in 1996 I soon developed an interest in psychiatry. I trained in both private and public psychiatric hospitals in Egypt but moved to the United Kingdom in 2002 where I commenced formal training as a junior doctor moving on to specialty training until I became a consultant psychiatrist in London in 2010. I passed my Royal college of psychiatry examination and obtained a masters degree in mental health from the University of Kent. My specialty is Learning disabilities psychiatry and Autism. I enjoy teaching and undertake regular training of medical students from Barts and London medical school. I participate in numerous research projects the latest being an RCT of effect of positive behavioral support on challenging behavior. My aim is to share as much experience of working in a developed health system with young and upcoming doctors and explore how together can develop a health and education system that we can all be proud of.
USA : Dr. Shereef Ramadan :
graduated from Ain Shams University in 1993, Joined Michael Reese Internal Medicine Residency Program-Chicago-in 1997, St. Francis Hospital Radiology residency program-Evanston, IL in 1999. Was Chief Resident at St. Francis hospital Radiology program 2002. Joined Wayne State university MRI fellowship program in 2002. He worked as staff Radiologist & clinical assistant professor at Mountain Home VAMC/ETSU program-Johnson city, TN from 2003-2010. Moved to Pennsylvania & joined Geisinger healthcare system as a staff Radiologist (2010-2012). Currently he is Medical director at Lock haven hospital & Sunbury hospital Radiology departments in central Pennsylvania. Areas of interest include Cardiac CTA, Virtual colonoscopy, Musculoskeletal radiology , MRI, mammography, healthcare management, healthcare system reform & providing healthcare for low income population.
