HRE Pilot Projects (Open for Applications , Volunteers and Sponsorship from Academia and NGO)
1)The Mentor-Student Research Link Program:
SUMMARY: A pilot project that connects medical students to an experienced group of volunteer researchers for a period of 4-6 months with a commitment from both sides to work together on a simple research project that should result in a published peer reviewed article in an international journal. There is an initial agreement that guarantees the student right for first authorship if he/she completed all required tasks. The program includes weekly lectures that builds the research skills of the students starting at the beginners level. The participating teams will compete for awards at the end of the program and present their work during a formal research day. The program also includes regular motivational incentives and both students and mentors evaluate each other objectively using structured forms. Scores are assigned for each of the activities required and a total score is calculated at the end of the program. Certificates of completion, and appreciation are given to both the mentor and the student at the formal ceremony of the final research day. Check the program news here

2)The Clinical Shadowing Program (CSP):
SUMMARY: A pilot project that connects medical students with a group of volunteer clinicians at a specialist or beyond level of experience. The aim is to enhance the clinical skills of medical students using efficient and ethically appropriate methods that do not exploit the rights of poor patients. The student will be closely attached to with his or her clinical mentor for defined schedules during the mentor's routine working hours. Regular online curriculum using innovative and non conventional teaching methods will be provided to the students during the program. Advanced models and resources from successful international medical school systems will be used. Check the program news here

6) TITLE: National database for Egypt Hospital and their Qualification for Providing Residency Programs
Summary: Establishing a comprehensive database that contains information about all Egyptian hospitals that could be technically qualified for providing national residency programs including both university affiliated hospitals, ministry of health hospitals and centers, and some distinguished private sector centers. The project is the essential first step before we can apply the national residency matching program system that will aim for accommodating all Egyptian medical graduates and not only a percentage of them as the situation at present.

Summary: A program to train non medical volunteers to be simulated patient actors . The program will include training the students for working with simulated patients and evaluate their learning ability using this model. The eventual goal is to help the establishment of a volunteer association that can provide these skills and be available for wide scale application
